My Physiotherapist Story...Based on the Wirral, I am a fully registered member of the CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy), The HPC (Health Professionals Council), MLACP (Medico Legal Association for Chartered Physiotherapists) and MEDCO.
I am also a keen athlete, and have competed at national standard badminton consistently for 10 years, representing English Universities at the British University Games. I currently also coach a number of individual junior players, who are amongst the top 10 in their age group, as well as teaching the U15 Cheshire squad, attending to any injuries they may achieve through playing and helping prevent future occurrences. |
I keep up to date with continual professional development, and have completed the first 3 modules of the Bobath Concept - An Introduction to Normal Movement, which concentrates on helping people who are neurologically impaired. For example, after suffering a stroke or trauma to the head / brain to enable the client to return as close as possible to their previous ability. I have completed the clinical whiplash course and a Physio First Electrotherapy course run by Professor Tim Watson.
I hosted and participated in a ROCKTAPE taping course in October 2013 at my first studio on Tarran Way South, Moreton open to all personal trainers / healthcare professionals with a good knowledge of anatomy and physiology. The event was a great success with many participants becoming qualified 'ROCKDOCS'. Pictures are available to view in the image gallery under the 'Treatments' section of our website.
I attended 'Imaging Referral Guidance' on 28 March 2014, enabling me to interpret scans and refer appropriately according to condition and area. I have recently completed a Hot Stones massage course and I will now be using hot stones as part of my treatments if deemed necessary. The heat from the stones enable the muscle to relax a lot more quickly and become more pliable, with the heat allowing for a relaxing and pain relieving treatment. Come and see for yourself!
I have completed the 'Introduction to Medico-Legal Work' course in Birmingham, ran by the MLACP (Medico Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists), specifically covering the role of an expert in the context of access to justice.
The next step in my CPD training to become a Medical Expert for the treatment of whiplash injuries is to undergo training in London in June 2017. This will cover Expert Witness Training and Advanced Expert Report Writing. In June 2017, I completed a course in London with Prosols. This was entitled 'Expert Witness Training and Advanced Expert Report Writing' which again added my CV allowing me to become more competent with medical and letter report writing.
I am also on the MEDCO database after completing over 30 hours of training with them. This enables me to be randomly selected to compile Medical Reports to assist companies and clients with assessing an individual's injuries.
